Support Diversity At Your Hospital With Locums This Holiday Season

In 1904, a Russian Jewish refugee named Israel Zangwill fled his homeland's "ethnic cleansing." Once here in the US, he wrote a play called "The Melting Pot." It was a huge Broadway hit. And since then, Americans have embraced the notion that our country welcomes all cultures.

We Have More Culture than Ever!

Now, here in the US, our holiday season is a time to cherish friends and family. Many Americans take part in celebrations that have religious roots, even if we don't subscribe to that religion.

Consider Halloween, a Catholic holiday that stems from a Celtic-pagan background. For many of us, "the holidays" begin with a fun costume, jack-o-lanterns and trick-or-treating. The following weeks fly by in a whirl of shopping, decorating and feasting until it all culminates with a huge New Year's Eve party.

There's Christmas, of course, which has been absorbed by millions of non-Christians. (Santa and his eight reindeer, by the way, are a mutation of the Scandinavian white-bearded Odin, who flies through the night on his eight-legged horse, bearing gifts.)

And, for 5.8 million Americans, there's Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights. This year it begins on November 28.

The Chinese New Year will begin on February 1, 2022.

And beginning on April 2, 2022, 1.6 billion Muslims around the world will celebrate the holy month of Ramadan with deliberate fasting and prayer.

Just a Handful of Holidays Your Staff Hopes to Enjoy

While these are just a few of the major holidays your staff might hope to enjoy, there are dozens more. And planning time off for so many physicians at your organization can be a headache for administrative staff.

We hope you'll honor the cultural and religious diversity at your organization by contracting with Med X.

Med X: Locum Tenens Providers to Support Your Staff Through all the Holidays

Like the nation itself, a big hospital campus is a melting pot, too.

The American Immigration Council says more than 247,000 physicians — that's about one-fourth of all our doctors in the country — immigrated to the U.S. to practice medicine.

Each of them brings valuable religious and cultural traditions that enrich our society and your hospital! And as a supervisor, it's your duty to ensure their overall experience with your hospital is a positive one. The best way to accomplish that is to encourage them to celebrate their heritage, and you can do that with locum tenens physicians.

What Are Locum Tenens Physicians?

Locum tenens physicians are reliable, experienced, trained physicians who can help support your hospital workload during any holiday. Plus, our services are more affordable than you think!

Every organization will have different needs, depending on your demographics. Your hospital might need more coverage during Hanukkah and Christmas. Then again, you may appreciate extra staff during Ramadan or the Chinese New Year.

At teaching hospitals, in particular, these needs might change from one year to the next.

Med X provides a dynamic service, always ready to support staff shortcomings during any holiday time.
